About Bemboka
Hit twice by bushfires, firstly in Aug-Oct 2018 and then again in Dec 2019-Feb 2020, our village welcomes the support of all visitors and volunteers,
and thanks the wonderful people who helped save so much of our village and surrounding areas.
As the western gateway to the Bega Valley, Bemboka is called the Village In A Valley and is 35km west of Bega on the Snowy Mountains Highway. Bemboka is the ideal place to base yourself for a Far South Coast / Snowys holiday.
It is 75km to Eden, Bombala and Cooma, and 50km to Tathra, Merimbula and Pambula.
2 hours to Canberra and Batemans Bay, 110km to Narooma, 85 to Bermagui.
In spring, it is less than an hour to whalewatching and less than 2 hours to the snow resorts, so the best of both worlds depending on the weather.
Snow sometimes falls as close as 20km away at the top of Brown Mountain.
